A Rainy but productive day January 16, 2008

We woke up this morning to our 6AM wake up call hearing the pounding of rain on the roofs of our pods. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the site work planned for today had to be canceled due to flooding in some of the areas where we work. My site is located in the Gentilly district, whose roads already were flooded with several inches in the morning. Despite these site work setbacks, I feel that much was accomplished back at camp in its place…

While sequestered in the main meeting tent, the Bonner community parter teams that work at our NJ sites met. My hunger team met and we discussed plans for this upcoming semester and goals for the Trenton Soup Kitchen. We discussed scheduling, CEL days, goals, and possible projects to raise money and acquire much needed products for TASK.

Time is flying and I know that I’ll be back before I know it with a busy class schedule and work at TASK, among many other things. When I am back I can recall many fun activities and memories from this NOLA trip, especially the experience of Louisiana rain!
